Deconstructing Christmas
Deconstructing Christmas
At the beginning of the 2009 school year, we investigated music terminology and the objects that go into creating a piece of music. Those terms were: pitch, tempo, timbre, interval, harmony, melody, rhythm, and phrase. These building blocks of music are most easily understood when a piece of music is disassembled, analyzed, and ultimately “Deconstructed.”
We have used our latest computer software tool called LogicPro to allow us to take the well known christmas song, The Twelve Days of Christmas, deconstruct this piece and reassemble it in different ways. Using this method we were able to see and manipulate the musical elements to make a creative difference in this song.
We hope you enjoy our latest Christmas offering. Happy Holidays!
